Hi folks; Does anyone know of an easier way to deal with getting rid of Office XP's CTFMON.EXE process, other than the rather cumbersome procedure documented in [Q]282599? I can't find anything using the Office XP Group Policy templates or general Office settings. I've got it all over a Citrix server I'm trying to stabilize, and unfortunately it's an accounting firm that's working 24/7 from now until April 15th.... The MSKB is full of dire warnings about what happens if you simply remove the process from Startup. Is this typical Microsoft FUD, or do things truly go south if you disable the process? One suggestion I saw on another list was to replace CTFMON.EXE with a dummy executable (!), as it kept loading anyhow after the removal procedure was followed.
