Jason, I had the same problem but under different circumstances. My CSG server doesn't have IIS on it so I requested the certificate using IIS on the NFuse server. When the certificate arrived from Verisign it needed to be: (1)Imported into the NFuse server using IIS (2)Exported from the NFuse server using the MMC (3)Imported into the CSG server using the MMC I got the error you did when trying to import the certificate directly from Verisign into the CSG server. I needed to go through the NFuse import/export process first. By the way, if you just open the .cer file directly I think I read that it gets placed in the wrong container. The important thing is to make sure that you select the option to allow the certificate to be exported during the initial request. I'm not a certificate guru so please just take this for what it is... Some guy with a little knowledge relaying his experience. Usually you then have to go back to that same interface, it sees a pending request and you point it to the cer file. From the server where I want to install CSG, I request a cert from the webpage. I improve it on the cert server. Again from the soon to be CSG server I revisit the cert servers webpage. I download a *.cer file. But when I try to install it into IIS is gives me an error: "The pending certificate request for this response file was not found. This request may be cancelled. You cannot install selected response certificate using this wizard" I have also tried double clicking on the .cer file and clicking on the install button. It walks me though the wizard and gives me a message about install successful. But when I try to install CSG it errors out because there is no server certificate. Only needed if running the java client. If not you need to install the cert on the box, and tell the clients to trust that CA by downloading and installing the cert path. But, for $350 or so, you can get a valid commercial 2-year cert from Thawte. However, if you want to use a private cert, I believe that you must first go to the IIS that is running the WI, and request a cert from your CA. Basically creating a private cert off of your CA. Then, export that cert. Then you copy that cert into the directory inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\ICAWEB\en\icajava. Then go to the ICA Client Deployment page and list the name of the file (not including the path) in the last field on the form and place a check box in the section "Use private Certificate Authority". I believe that there are a couple of other steps that you have to do, but I cannot remember all of the steps off hand. I may be wrong with what I listed out above, and if so, someone please let me know, and set me straight. It's been a while since I messed around with private certs and WI. During the test period, I would like to run CSG and Nfuse on the same box and install STA on a different box. I plan on placing both of the servers inside our network and just port forward 443 and 80 to the CSG/Nfuse Server. But I'm getting tripped up install CSG because of certificates. I don't want to buy one during my testing. Is there a way to create a temp certificate? I tried installing windows 2000 cert server (stand alone) and importing the cert from that. But it didn't work. Anyone have any helpful hints? Thanks,jb ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - NetX Inc.
