[THIN] CE Thin clients and network printers

I am envisaging setting up a variety of small (5 thin clients) networks
attached to a single central TS(W2K3). Cost is a paramount issue. I had
envisaged getting a business inkjet, and putting a print server (Not a
PC: small box) on it.
It's now come clear to me that CE clients don't accept direct IP
printing. Am I hoping for too much and needing to think about XPe
Client? Or is there a clever workaround someone could point me at?
