It is normally, which is what the 901115 hotfix normally cures, but in this instance, which is a x64 sp2 r2 machine which contains that hotfix in SP2, its seemed to affect only these 9400 Dell Laptops. I also have the 'disablebeep' registry entry installed, the beep hidden device disabled, and the sounds icon set to 'no sounds' all on the Citrix server. I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, and it never bleeped for me ! ----- Original Message ---- From: Chad Schneider (IT) <Chad.M.Schneider@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 1:59:55 PM Subject: [THIN] Re: Bleep back in W2k3 x64 R2 SP2 terminal services/Citrix PS4 I thought this was actually done on the Citrix servers. We worked it out though, we had to disable the beep in device manager/hidden devices, but only on the dell inspiron 9400's. All other machines never got the beep nice ----- Original Message ---- From: Jim Kenzig <jkenzig@xxxxxxxxx> To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 12:48:28 PM Subject: [THIN] Re: Bleep back in W2k3 x64 R2 SP2 terminal services/Citrix PS4 Go to the server do a change user /instal from a cmd promptl and go to the sounds control panel applet and make sure the sound scheme is set to none. Then do a change user /execute from the command prompt. That has always fixed it for me. Weird thing is however, its only bleeping for our users who have Dell Inspiron 9400 laptops !! anyone else had this, or got any ideas before I log a call with MS ? Thanks Andy
