If the application has any HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry keys, you'll need to use the Change User /install mode to get those keys propagated out to all of your Citrix users at login. For applications that don't add current_user registry keys during installation, you'll be okay without doing the change user. I do the change user always because I don't know what the application is putting into the registry for me during installation... -Dave Melczer dmelczer@xxxxxxxx ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Melvin.Columna@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 10:17 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] App install 2x click vs add-remove vs change user /install Hi Gang, These days do we still need to properly install apps via Add/Remove or change user /install ? Even something as trivial as Winzip or an FTP Client ? Or can we just 2x click on the install, and if it doesn't complain then we're golden? We're running a mix bag of Win2K / Win2K3 and XPe . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------ Melvin Columna Kraft Foods/GDC - Application Management eMail: Melvin!.!Columna!@!Kraft.com {remove the ! characters} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------ ********************************************************************** Please be advised that this transmittal may be a confidential attorney-client communication or may otherwise be privileged or confidential.
