The problem, is that when the user have logged off all servers, even turned
his computer off to be sure.. the file still is in use. The user has not
used the cross in the right corner, but Start, and log off...

We had this problem, not only on WTS machines but also on clients. It
was caused by a internal web-based app. The user needed to logoff and
then the prf*.tmp file was deleted from the user's network profile.
The web-based has since been altered and the problem no longer exists.

Subject: [THIN] prf*.TMP file

Hello group, I have this strange problem that has occurred several times
the last days. We are using W2k-servers with MFXP FR1, , and the users
are
loading their roaming profiles from a separate W2k file-server, where
they
have their profiles-directory. (\\FILESERVER\profiles\username)

Yesterday, and today, some of the users have getting the error :

Windows cannot copy file \\fileserver\profiles\lunmor\recent\prf13.tmp
to
m:\documents and settings\lunmor\Recent\prf13.tmp
Detail : The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process.

Other users get the same error... the only difference is that the files
have different numbers : prf13.tmp, prf63.tmp and so on..

What are these prf-files ? It sounds like a profile-file.. ?
What process are using it ?

I have killed all the processes belonging to this user, and I still am
unable to delete this file, in the CMC at all servers, but it did not
help
at all.

I have also searched the google, technet, and antivirus.com. (Thethin
search engine generates some SQL-errors for the time beeing.. )

Help appreciated

best regards
