We have the exact same problem here with Word / Notes. What did you put in
the mapisvc.inf file Rob ?

Also, you should take a look at the following reg-key :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Lotus
Notes\Protocols\mailto\shell\open

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Lotus Notes\shell\open

Can you clarify this more indepth.
in my perception I can run notes from anywhere as long as the users
notes.ini is locally on the server.

If you ran it from a redirected server mapping, how did you do it with the
notes.ini?
Where was the user specific notes.ini?
