All female Yellow Grosbeaks I have seen have had spotted wing bars like the
bird on Mary’s link and unlike the bird from around Austin. The folded wing
itself also usually looks gray with at the most a hint of yellowish. Can these
differences be explained by the extreme lightening of the photo of the Austin
bird?
