Got cackling goose on Binford Rd off 290, white fronted geese on Hegar and an
juvenile bald eagle being harassed by adult red tailed hawk and caracaras at a
more distant pond on Heger Road north of 290, looking east.
At Heger and 290, mallards, pintails, white ibis and white faced ibis.
Bear Creek: finally got a pine sisken at a puddle with over 50 American
goldfinches. Nice there is a juvenile and adult red headed woodpecker hanging
in the same area, restroom #10. Sad that vultures were eating dog, which was
not there yesterday.
Also went to Russ Pitman park in Bellaire: male Rufous Hummer at the large
clump of shrimp plants in front of the house driveway. Poor little thing was
cold and didn't fly even when blue jays swooped down.
