Just a quick note on today's birds. Dennis Shepler and I birded from Galveston to High Island and then back to Galveston today. Not too birdy at High Island but not bad either. Much more noticeable migration on/near Galveston Island. 23 Warbler species for the day, best were a female Cerulean at Smith Oaks and a female Black-throated Blue at Lafitte's. Plenty of other migrants around, with all of the usual thrushes and vireos seen today. Shorebirds/Terns in good numbers with 115 Black Terns at Rollover and 10 Red Knots at Bolivar Flats. One Red-breasted Nuthatch was passing through Corps Woods.
