A group from California and a group from New York joined me today for
the bird walk. Very quiet day passerine-wise, but we enjoyed the
waterbirds! Five redheads were a pretty good count for being this far
inland. Black-bellied whistling-ducks have returned to Pintail; the
first I have seen of them in a few weeks. We dipped on the Wilson's
Phalarope but it is likely still around as a visitor reported it
yesterday.
Bird walks are offered daily and leave the visitor center at 8:30 am.
