Greetings All:
Most of this winter has featured low numbers of American Robins and very
low numbers of Cedar Waxwings in the Lubbock area.

The latest weather system seems to have changed that.

Some of my numbers:

Yesterday morning along Quaker between 4th and 19th: 250+ American Robins
and 150+ Cedar Waxwings.

Yesterday afternoon at Whisperwood Pond: 62 American Robins and 32 Cedar
Waxwing.

Yesterday afternoon from one spot in the Whisperwood neighborhood: 240+
American Robins.

This morning at Whisperwood Pond: 80 American Robins and 45 Cedar Waxwings.

Other observers in the area noted large numbers of American Robins and
Cedar Waxwings coincident with this storm system. Also noted: increasing
numbers of Lincoln's Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos, Northern Cardinals, House
Finches, Pine Siskins, and American Goldfinches at local feeders over the
weekend - and at least one report of a Purple Finch in the Lubbock area!
