Hey I am a young birder and I'm no hipster! Redneck in fact! I enjoy
birding alongside any age and welcome any conversation. I have made
friendships with many people that are more than 30 years older than me. And
I think that fun has no age, maybe you are just no fun ;) (purely poking
fun).
What I like most about birding is the comradery; when everyone is looking
for a rare bird and people exchange numbers without a thought, or go
running through the woods trying to find that person looking for a specific
bird you just saw, that moment that you can help someone find a lifer. It's
more than just seeing birds and counting numbers. Getting out of the house
and enjoying nature, I can't tell you the amazing things I have seen in the
name of birding.
Anyways, just letting you know not every young birder is a hipster or just
there to pass the time in solitude.
