My favorite birds of the day aren't on the list below.  A group watching a
coyote along the tram road was surprised to see a Gray Hawk come in for a
closer look.  Just a few minutes earlier a Greater Roadrunner had zipped
across the tram road.  This was around 1 PM on the back stretch of the
road, not where either bird is usually found.
Green Kingfishers have been regulars in the Kiskadee Deck/2nd bridge area.
If you don't find an Altamira Oriole out in the park, check the feeding
station.  They can usually be found near the fruit or the hummingbird
feeder, although most days they can be seen throughout the park.

DIRECTIONS:  The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located
on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732,
follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles;
shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park.
