Two families came for the butterfly walk and enjoyed the park's loaner
Papilio binocs. One of our most interesting discoveries was a Checkered
White, newly emerged from its chrysalis but unable to fully inflate and dry
its wings due to some pretty aggressive interest from another Checkered
White. At last check the newly emerged butterfly was alive but had pretty
deformed wings.
Three Brazilian Skippers in a Mexican Olive at the start of Ebony Trail
were a late-afternoon surprise since we don't have Canna in the park.
