This morning about 10 AM Megan Ahlgren, one of the staff naturalist heard a
Red-breasted Nuthatch out in front of the nature center. She alerted the rest
of the staff and we ran outside to find two birds. They were actively foraging
in the terminal ends and cones of the pines and were difficult to spot and keep
up with. They were camera shy but I managed one very bad but identifiable
image. Unfortunately I did not have my card in the camera and when I put it in
hoping to capture the image, it proved as elusive as the birds. Oh well. I
suspect there is significant movement happening now so you might want to check
your local patch.
