Rather brutal weather for birding early this morning along the coast with strong winds and Galveston recording 4.01 inches of rain. That said there were still some good birds out there if you happened to be feeling waterproof and wind resistant, or perhaps to non-birders slightly crazy would be a better description. Plenty of the usual suspects around. Short list of highlights is below: Northern Gannet - 3 Surfside Beach, in pretty close right after the rain diminished. 1 adult and 2 younger birds.
