People coming to San Antonio to see the scoters at the Mitchell Lake Audubon
Center should keep in mind the hours and fees noted at
http://mitchelllake.audubon.org/hours-fees-directions-0 MLAC is open on
Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On any given week day,
Monday-Friday, staff may be present at the headquarter, may be on the site
away from the headquarters building, or off-site giving a presentation, etc.
Given those possibilities, before a person leaves home to go the Mitchell
Lake Audubon Center it is best to call the center at 210-628-1639 to make
sure that someone will be in the office to open the gate. People living any
distance from San Antonio should make that call a day or more before making
their drive.
