Ten minutes in the resaca blind his morning resulted in the following: The
Masked Duck was perched on a submerged branch, taking in the early sun, before
moving to the shade of some aquatic vegetation. The resaca was also holding a
single White-crowned Night Heron and a solo Black-crowned Night Heron, nesting
Pied-billed Grebes and lots of Least Grebes and at least a pair of Green
Herons. Along the trails we have bunch of newly fledged things like
Black-crested Titmouse and Olive Sparrows and Long-billed Thrashers and a bunch
of others, such as Buff-bellied Hummingbirds, still feeding young in the nest.
The days are hot but the woods are shady and the main blind gets a nice breeze
so come visit.
