Hi, Texbirders! Just in time for the weekend, volunteers at our bird banding
station at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area netted and banded a
second-year male Lazuli Bunting. We believe this is a previously undocumented
species at LLELA. Interested birders should hike the Bittern Marsh Trail for
the best chance of spotting the bird, particularly along the portion of the
trail closest to the northeast corner of the marsh. A LLELA trail map is
available at LLELA.org, or can be obtained in the gatehouse upon arrival at
LLELA. Public hours this weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) are 7 a.m. to 7
p.m. Entry is $5/person. LLELA is closed to the public Monday-Thursday.

Have a great weekend!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most
amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. --Edward Abbey
