Found both the Greater Pewee and female Western Tanager out in Bear Creek Park this morning. The Pewee was found out in front of Restroom #12, and the Tanager was seen 200 yards or so to the south of Restroom #12. After Bear Creek, I headed over to Steven and Ann Williams in W. Houston and their yard was busy with hummers, including at least 3 Allen's Hummingbirds. One was an adult male, which was banded by Sue Heath a couple of years ago, and 2 for sure, and maybe 3, immature males. Quite a few Rufous were around as well. Saw at least 2 adult males, one of which was banded, also by Sue, 2 immature males and 1 female type Rufous/Allen's. An immature/female archilochus which Steven recently spotted was a no show. Steven and Ann Williams are gracious hosts, and birders are welcome to view their hummers at any time. Their address is 7730 Stonesdale, which is in Copperfield, and their telephone # is 281-463-3620. And birders, don't forget to sign the guest book. Jim Hinson Houston, Rx.
