All: Highlight of my recent week long stay in GMNP was finding a small colony of Buff-breasted Flycatchers on May 14th in the lowest part of “The Bowl”. Three males were voraciously singing and at least one other bird was present, all within about 200 yards. Earlier in the week and on the other side of the park, huge numbers of Gray Flycatchers (~20) lined Dog Canyon from below the ranger station almost to the top. Also present in Dog Canyon and throughout the high country were unusually high numbers of Grace’s Warblers.
