Some interesting birds on the UTPA campus in Edinburg yesterday. With the
shift back to SE winds, the migrants may move on, but some are new arrivals
which will stay to nest.

Turkey Vulture 8 flock drifting over, sw to ne
Broad-winged Hawk 3 flying over, with vultures
Rock Dove 10
White-winged Dove 30
Mourning Dove 2
Golden-fronted Woodpecker 5
Brown-crested Flycatcher 2 one calling a lot just west of Science building,
other by wildscape--arrvied recently, setting up territories
Great Kiskadee 6
Couch's Kingbird 1
Western Kingbird 1 heard only--singing
Clay-colored Thrush 2 male singing softly, second bird also around.
Northern Mockingbird 8
Common Starling 2
Northern Waterthrush 1 calling and foraging just south of library
Yellow-breasted Chat 1 foraging in "alcove" at s. end of LAC
Great-tailed Grackle 12
Lesser Goldfinch 1
House Sparrow 25
