[texbirds] Flam Owl - South Padre Island

Hi all,
Reid and I were walking on the boardwalk yesterday (January 8, 2013) at the SPI 
Convention Center when a young couple from New York told us they had seen a 
small owl in a tree behind the Convention Center and would we know what kind of 
owl that might be.  We asked them if they would mind showing us the owl so we 
all walked back to look in the tree to see if the owl was still there.  It was 
and Reid went back to get his camera to take some photos of the owl.  At first 
glance, Reid and I thought it sure as heck was too small to be an Eastern 
Screech-owl, possibly an Elf Owl but concluded we weren't sure.

Reid searched again this afternoon (January 9, 2013) to see if he could 
relocate the owl but did not find it.
