Start the New Year off with a BANG by helping with the Falcon Christmas Bird
Count. We'll meet at Salineno at the boat ramp at 7 AM (I hope to be there by
630) to hand out packets to those who still need them. I aspire to distribute
the packets by email to those I know are coming. If you think you may be
coming please email or call me so I know to expect you!
I haven't had any recent reports of the Bald Eagle that spent November on the
river, and it's been a week or so since the Reddish Egret was eBirded. Muscovy
Ducks are in small numbers but present (though I missed them today) and a
single Red-billed Pigeon fly by Salineno today. A single Groove-billed Ani is
in the area as well.
If Falcon doesn't fit in your plans, don't forget Anzalduas-Bentsen on 1/3 or
Harlingen and Kingsville on 1/4!
