Good afternoon Texbirders, I backed up the walk lead by Dave Elder in the park on a wonderful and birdie morning. Below is the list that I counted and the groups also added Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Red-shouldered Hawk, American Bittern, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, and Rufous Hummingbird. My highlights on the morning are of the continued presence of a Black Phoebe around Alligator Lake, a Peregrine Falcon that seemed to have dived after a Ringed Kingfisher and a beautiful wild drake Mallard. Join us on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday for a guided bird walk and this Saturday is Breakfast with the Birds so call to reserve your spot. See you on the trails.
