I have also been trying to find out privately what this is all about, but have had no response. There are often times when I think it is more appropriate to reply to someone privately rather than replying to the list. This is especially true if the proposed reply is somewhat delicate. It now seems that my future choices are to either not reply at all, or only respond when my post will be of the milk toast variety. Pretty much eliminates the interpersonal guideline of praising in public and criticizing in private.
