Ran into a guy at lower Paul's lake this afternoon who said he saw the crane in a field around intersection of 149 and 1170 this a.m. 1170 is 2 streets north of 298, west of 214. Justin Bosler said cranes are foraging farther afield and he thought possibly up towards Sudan, although he said some flew west this a.m. Some of us waited at lower Paul's lake around 5 p.m. and were astonished that only 5 cranes had come in. Got a text from birder who is camping at refuge and he reported waves of cranes arriving at approx 645 p.m. (Quite dark, but full moon). He thought they were going to Goose Lake and east towards 214, which probably means Paul's lake.
