Texbirders,
Today the female/immature Common Merganser was at the same location ("About 1+
miles east of the Tejas Camp trailhead. It was in the area of flooded willows
right where the trail on the south shore of the river climbs up along the
bluff") where it was found by Rich, Veena and Anthony on 11/13. Unfortunately,
as I headed back down the trail, an airboat came up the river, flushing the
bird (The bird appeared to be circling back to the same spot although I
couldn't see if it landed from I was). The airboat roared back through another
15 minutes later on its way back down the river. Hopefully the bird will return
to the spot as it looked very comfortable there this morning. The list and
photos for the morning can be seen at
