[texbirds] Black Terns Everywhere West of Houston Today

Texbirders:
Ebird had not previously reported Black Tern in Austin County. Black Terns had
not been reported in ebird in Waller County in 4 years. Not reported in Ft Bend
in 2011 or 2013. I'm guessing this may have been from lack of looking in Mid
May combined with drought rather than true scarcity because:
Fred Collins had 4 black terns at his farm in N.central Waller County this
morning.
Late this afternoon after work:
Harvey Laas had 30 Black Terns on FM359 just south of county line (far N. Ft
Bend Co.)
I had three Black Terns in Waller County on Stallknecht rd N. of Mcallister rd
(Harvey refound one)
Harvey (and a little later I) had 100 Black terns (and 6 Franklin's gulls) on
NW corner of Neuman Rd N. & Morton rd.(Waller Co.)
I had three Black Terns on Beckendorf Rd 200 yds N. of FM3013 (Austin Co.)
There were also two Black Terns at Rosenberg Park May 9 (found by Jade Hems--I
refound one later in day)(Ft. Bend Co.)
I did however strike out (No Black Terns) in the rice fields on FM3013 in
Colorado County (W. of Attwater Prairie Chicken NWR)
