Hello Texbirders, Despite the cold and the much needed rain (.25 inches so far and we will take whatever we can get), the birds have still been out and about at Bentsen. Numerous hummingbirds, Indigo and Painted Buntings, and other migrants have been reported in the park and throughout the garden area at the headquarters. The Groove-billed Anis are being seen around the Hawk Tower and at Ebony Grove. The Black Phoebes are still being seen near the canal and we have also found an active Altamira Oriole nest between the visitor center and administrate building. Bobwhite Quail and Lark Sparrows have been spotted in the area behind the visitor center before the main entrance of the park. Have a wonderful day of birding!
