Yesterday I had American bittern on the east side of Shoveler Pond, about 1/3 of the distance from the SE to NE corner. There were also about 60 Horned grebes on the bay at the end of the entrance road. Very windy, but a nice day for raptors, with many Harriers, White-tailed hawk, and White-tailed kites. Some ducks in Shoveler Pond (about the only fresh water available), but mostly far away and too windy for the scope, though large numbers of Black-bellied whistling ducks were there. -- Brooke Nicotra Kingwood, Texas, USA Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
