Had some decent yard birds lately:
A Red-breasted Nuthatch has been feeding on sunflower seeds in my yard for the
past couple of days.......Am. Goldfinches (maybe 2 or 3) have been around for
the last couple of weeks.....an Eastern Phoebe has been calling in the
neighborhood......a Dark-eyed Junco (slaty) was feeding on millet on the ground
yesterday (haven't had one of those in the yard in years). Waiting on Purple
Finches, Siskins, Evening Grosbeaks, Red Crossbills (one can always hope).

Boat loads of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks have been around the ponds at the
VA cemetery off of Veterans-Memorial Blvd. (but they have been there for
years).......also, 20+ Gadwall were seen on a private pond adjacent to the
cemetery on Thanksgiving.
