You guys are only heading for the "Final"
Take it from someone that has been there.
When Computers were $1500 to $2000 it was reasonable to try to upgrade.

With your own Monitor, you now buy a complete system at $500. (2.4Gig)
40 Gig Hard Drive. Operating System installed.

Latest Technology. My advice...if time is Money...go to a Reliable Box
Store, buy a System. After 2 years...Technology will have changed again,
and it will be obsolete.

I don't work for Dell or Emachine. But as far as Computers. going the
way of Calculators, VCR's,..Upgrades are not a "frugal" alternative
these days.

Hi Jorge-Today I loaded XP on the 6630 and it had ALL of the system
drivers.WOW !It's slow so I will try 128 mb of PC100.Will this computer
accept 133 MHz ram ? Regards,Pete

I have just installed XP on a 330mhz PII and it runs great.
I believe that machine comes with only 64MB ram, which is not enough
even for W98.... You should add at least 128MB, better 256MB (PC100 or
PC133).
If you do not want to install XP you can use W98SE but you will have to
download
all the drivers for the 6630 from the HP site. Sometimes those
modems'firmware
don't put up very well with XP... but nowadays you can buy a pctel based
modem
for as low as 10 bucks... you can buy 256MB pc133 at zipzoomfly.com for
as low
as 70 bucks..
That's what I should do, but it if you get the original CD and decide to

restore the
former system, increasing RAM amount a little be won't do any harm..
you have a great day
Jorge
