I can't find the model I had with this problem, but I think it was similar.
Look for a shorted zener diode to the left of the Pico Fuse (looking from rear
of
set)
It was a small wattage zener.

This set came in dead. I found R432 in the start up circuit burnt. I
replaced the resistor, C431 & C432 plugged the set back in and it burnt R432
again. This time I replaced the 130V regulator ( str30130)& Q405 and D407
even though they checked good. Again as soon as I plugged in the set it ate
R432 ant this time it took out the Pico fuse F401 also. Surrounding
resistors all measure ok and before the Pico fuse blew, the 161V source
looked ok.
Has anyone out there seen this before???
