Al;
I suspect it's a system to send everyone in your address book any
changes you have made to your own address. Such as new or additional
email addresses.
Since I have very little trust or respect for AOL...there is probably
a guy sitting at the end filing all this info.
Again...it's the "lazy man's" way of having the Internet do everything
for you, so you won't have to do much of your own thinking.
