[TechAssist] Re: Toshiba CX28510, TAC9005, brightness problem

D866 was shorted, but when I replaced it with 2-15 volt zener diodes,
there was no change. Either there is something else wrong in the same
circuit, or I need 1-30 volt zener diode. I will try to find a 30 volt
zener somewhere.

This set has a problem with the brightness circuit. When this set is
first turned on, the picture is black. When the OSD brightness is
increased a little bit the picture comes on and is washed out. I can
then turn the brightness down for an OK picture. But if I change
channels the picture goes black again. The OSD is still visible. TIA
