Thanks to All who replied to these TV-Lift threads...

I've gotten many e-mails from repair shops since asking about a TV-lift for
shop use. Seems I'm not alone in the need for a good Lift. I did order an
Escalera http://www.escalera.com/moving/tv.htm but I am tossing my decision
back and forth from day-to-day (I can cancel the order or return for full
refund minus shipping if it arrives soon). Seems from the replies I got, the
Escalera is very heavy and really still requires 2 people for best use. (not
many shops have an Escalera from my e-mail post replies - only 2 shops
replied that have one) I don't need the stair-climbing feature as bad as I
do the lift feature although I was thinking it might be very handy for
future use. Right now we don't offer Pick-Up/Delievery on any sets. (I need
the lifting feature more) I like these WESCO
http://www.wescomfg.com/Pedalifts-Stackers.pdf lifts. The 2-wheel model -
So you can get the platform all the way down to the floor "flat" allowing
one person to carefully slide the set on to the platform. (((The Escalera
requires you to still have to lift the set onto the platform because of the
front wheels - or make several wooden platforms))) Also the 40" lift height
model is all I really need. I really need the lift mostly for getting the
larger TV sets off the customer's pick-up trucks/mini-Vans and into our
repair shop. Our shop tables are less than 40" and most all customer's
vehicles would be less than 40". I am thinking the 40" (max lift height)
would be about the right height (if used for servicing on the lift) and less
weight, cost and size (just guessing here) and be more the type lift I am
thinking would fit my needs. Our shop is very small also - not much spare
room. Some of these WESCO lifts will lift up to 54" (too high for my use).
I'm wondering if the 40" lift is a smaller, less weight lift? Also BIG
question ..... Would the foot pedal model or the Hand crank model be best? I
am in perfect health at age 40 (other than my back killing me) but wondering
which model lift is best. The PL models are a Pedal Lift (PL). The Hand
crank (guessing) would be faster - But Pedal Lift (guessing) might be easy
to control while holding the lift with your hands (keeping it steady) while
you simply pedal the TV up or down. I'm guessing it pedal's down -Or- is
there some release trigger for taking the lift down? (like the small little
hand truck I just purchased from tractor supply $149 that was suggested
here). Anyhow sorry for all the questions but I promised myself I was going
to get some type of lift (very soon) be it an Escalera or a WESCO or
whatever. Any comments from the group?
