My guess is that he broke a connection at the yoke. As I recall on these
sets the little board where the wiring into the yokes connects is pretty
fragile and a bitch to get to.

+ & - voltages at both fuses on the D board. I told customer I needed a
service manual to try to check the circuit. When I returned with the manual
the customer told me he unpluged the red plug on red crt yoke and turned the
set on and it flashed 3 times and now no picture at all.(phew!!!!---why me)
> I know this is an old post but i,m just hoping somebody familiar with
these sony projection tv's can help. I have what looks like the exact
vertical scope waveform coming out of pin 5 on the vert output ic and at the
red yoke. It is in series with the green & the blue. It looks like it gets a
little smaller at the green yoke and then a little smaller at the blue.
there is about 1.3 ohms from the bottom of the blue winding to the ground
and the combined resistance of all the yokes is about 12.9 ohms. The standby
led on the front pannel just keeps blinking ,which means there is no vert
.pulse getting to the protection circuits to turn on the video outputs.(good
thing).
> My question is why can't the yokes be driven by what looks like such a
good signal and if I have any problems in the convergence outputs will that
stop the circuit from running. There are no burnt parts, the fuses are ok,
the voltages are all within a volt according to the schematic.

what could have happened to this vertical section after the customer
unplugged the vertical deflection plug (cn1413) from the crt's. (He thought
he was going to shut off the red gun and watch a clear blue/green
picture). He told me he heard 3 clicks when he pluged the set in with the
yokes disconnected and that was the end of the picture. I have a good strong
vert pulse coming from pin 5 at the output ic and at the yokes but only see
a line. All the voltages are pretty close to the manual on the output and
convergence stk's.Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.
