SYMPTOMS: There was a loud thump from the speakers when the unit was plugged
in. The unit would not turn on. The 9V line did not switch on. We found that
the CPU was not issuing a power on command - or anything else.

RESOLUTION: The 9V line did not switch on. We found that the CPU was not
issuing a power on command - or anything else. The cause was the
Reset/IC002. It was holding the reset line low. Replacement of IC002
resolved the problem.
