[TechAssist] Sony KP-53V80 Shutoff

Hi..
Hopefully someone has run into this problem with this model before..
KP-53V80 comes on fine but continues to get brighter (all 3 guns) and then
finally goes into shutdown anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
The oddest thing- when screen starts to get bright you cannot get menu button
to activate and tv looses on screen display completely (SOMETIMES!!!). 5
blinks of course (SOMETIMES!!) indicating video problem but I drew a blank
looking for the answer last night in the customer's home.
Any suggestions appreciated!
