Yes, it is always difficult repairing something that another technician
has looked at, let alone a customer who isn't a technician. If I was
busy all the time I would also refuse to work on anything that came from
a shop I didn't know or a customer special. Thanks for your input.

I hope you charge accordingly to repair customer specials. My feeling
is
once the customer has changed what came out of the factory you are no
longer
dealing with a factory product and time and materials certainly apply
here.
I often will refuse to work on such equipment unless the customer knows
it
will be a costly venture for them and they are willing to bear it.
