This has to be the fastest reply in history! It turned out to be the remote that was bad. I was successful in programming a universal remote that works with the TV. The funny thing is that the remote still works with their VCR and stopped working with their TV. =20 Kevin Wilks Kevin's TV & Video Repair Penticton BC Canada kevintv@xxxxxxx=20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kevin Sent: Wednesday, July 16, 2003 1:16 PM To: TECH-ASSIST Subject: [TechAssist] Samsung 20" TV, moel TXD1973, doesn't accept commands from remote control. I cleaned the remote and all connections look good. The B+ at the remote sensor inside the TV measures 5 volts, and the =93S=94 pin reads = 4.99 volts and drops to 4.1 volts when I press a button on the TV portion of the remote. When I press a button in the VCR portion of the remote the meter just flashes (no reading). A different remote drops the voltage down to 4.1 volts as well. The front buttons of the TV all work. Am I correct in assuming that the microprocessor is at fault, or could the remote be at fault? =20 Kevin Wilks Kevin's TV & Video Repair Penticton BC Canada kevintv@xxxxxxx=20 =20 ************************************************************************ ***** CHECK OUT THE NEW CHATROOM!
