Cause was the +5v. filter capacitor C666 (bad) 2200uf. 10v. for the regulator IC653 - 7805A. Voltaged on several connection points measured only 3.6v. Caused all kind of symptoms with this set. Replaced C666 - cured all problems. Thanks to all who responed to this email, appreciated very much. David.
