It may work, believe it or not. The S2000A specs: 1500v 5a 0.7us 12.5 watts(from Toshiba datasheet) You don't have to use a NTE HOT, they are not the best around. Cheaper and better 2SD2581 or even 2SD1885/86/87 (you may have one of these around, try it) 2sc5148 would be a nice sub, too.
