Tips a plenty!   The CTC178 and 179 are similar sets.

Q4801 = 214641 = IRF730 fet = ECG67 .............according to these tips.

Found Q4801 Charred And Open R4813 910 Ohm 1/2 Watt. Replace Q4801 Getting
Real Hot. Found Bad Connections On Cr4401.

Dead / Fuses Ok / Then Bowed And Too Wide

Found C4406  2.2 @ 200 V Exploded And C4407 Bulged (214753)
Cr4402 Shorted (Ecg 580)
This Got The Set Running, With Bowed Sides.  Then Found Q4801 (Irf730)
Shorted, Subs To Ecg 67.

Pincushion, Q4801 Shorted. The Fet Mounted On Heat Sink.

Shannen'S Electronics

Measured Following Voltages: Q4801 Drain (11.4v), Gate (.4v)  U4801 Pin 2
(4v) Pin 3 (4.6v).  Found C4408 (10uf/50v Bipolar) Cracked On One End.
Resoldered Capacitor And Restored Normal Pincushion With The Following
Voltages: Q4801 Drain (19.9), Gate (2.1)  U4801  Pin 2 (4.5v) Pin 3 (4.7v).
