Proscan
PS31150
CTC169GL

Set when plugged in will give a faint chip with a cycle
of 8 or 9 smaller and dimishishing power supply start attempts (no attempt
to start the rest of the set) B+ on C4141 peaks at about 189v for the
instant it is there. The Cycling in the power supply sounds some what like a
resonate decay ringing. Set before I got to it appears to have been
extensivly reworked (time frame ?) ie eniter Micro circuit reworked (new
shiny solder...) the power supply caps in the sw mode appear to have been
replaced (they test ok out of circuit 2.2uf, 15uf, 47uf, 470uf) Tried
subbing out diodes usch as CR4118, 4117, 4116. Did find a cap C4143 1000uf
35v leaking electrolite but replacing had no effect (traces on underside of
board show discoloration but still have continuity). C4401 tests ok (it is
an orange drop in this set). I was thinking that the feedback might be
sending incorect bias information to the regulator chip. (I have a spare
chip but havent put in yet as supply appeared to be at least attempting to
work, will be next step on monday. Ideas?
