OK, here we go. Symptom: This plays for a minute or two, then an interference pattern creeps accross the red & blue CRT's, and they go dark. As they go dark, the green CRT gets very bright (no retrace lines). If I leave it go, then the blue & green go dim, and the red gets bright. freezing U2001 cures it for a while. CURE: the 9V Y/V/C VCC is running 11V. The cure was to replace CR3065, in the base circuit of the 9V regulator. This diode is behind a heat sink, ad covered with hot glue; a real chore to get to.
