Gary, The Prime Star dishes can be used to pick up the Ku band satellites. You will need a standard C band receiver. There are several types of Prime Star dishes and they differ in how they are powered and change polarity. I suggest you check out the TVRO group on yahoo groups. There are guys there that have done this and can help you. I have a Prime Star dish laying in my yard but I have not hooked it up since I have two other dishes with C/Ku feeds on them.
