Forgot about this earlier:

SYMPTOM: Will not save adjustments made in Service Mode (SAM).

CAUSE: Wrong exit procedure and/or wrong remote being used.

CURE:
 A) Use only remote that comes with TV

 B) Save and exit correctly:

  1) After adjustments, press menu button to return
to original SAM entry menu. Do not go to Virtual
       customer menu.

  2) Press only remote power button for exit and off.

  3) Break AC for 10 seconds and then confirm
       change is saved.
